Randy Savage dies due to heart disease
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Randy “Macho Man” Savage, a former pro-wrestler, died due to a natural cause of heart disease.
The report of the Highway Patrol showed that after the traffic accident on May 20, the day that Savage died, the former pro-wrestler may have suffered a medical event, which was verified by a medical examiner through autopsy.
The cause of Savage’s death was atheriosclerotic heart disease, a clotting of artery walls that can lead to heart attack or sudden death. Furthermore, Sgt. 1st Class Steve Gaskins of the Florida Highway Patrol stated that a report from toxicology showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.03 grams per deciliter, doxylamine metabolite and hydrocodone, doxylamine, dhydrocodeine, caffeine and acetaminophen.
However, Gaskins did not give added information with regard to the report of toxicology. He also stated that the report from an autopsy will be included in the report of traffic homicide, which must be released many weeks from now.
The former pro-wrestler, who lives in Seminole, Florida, lost control to his jeep in the early morning hours of May 20 while driving on Florida State Route 694 in Pinellas County. The jeep jumped in a middle and crash down with a tree. Savage died in Largo Medical Center. On the other hand, Barbara Lynn Poffo, Savage’s wife, suffered minor injuries since she was in the passenger seat and was immediately admitted in the hospital.
The former pro-wrestler, whose real name was Ralph Mario Poffo, was outrageously famous during his career in WWE in the 1980s and early 1990s for his eccentric cowboy hats, jackets and shades, as well as for howling mottos “Can you dig it?” and “Oooohhhhh Yeaahhhh!!”. In a statement after he passed away, the WWE called Savage as one of the supreme superstars of his time.
